When WW1 & 2 were going we the cookies were ginger nut cookies and sent on a ship but when anzac cookies were made they had to stay in New Zealand. First you need to have rolled oats, coconut, flour and sugar in a bowl. Next you melt a half a block of butter in a small pan and stir it with golden syrup, and get warm water and put baking soda and mix them both together and put vanilla ascent with it. finally mix it all together and get water and wash hand and don't dry them next roll your mixing into a ball. I really enjoyed myself making some of these Anzac cookies.
